Handicap Policy

Although our monthly hickory events are largely informal, we always ante up some money for a competition to keep our games sharper, more lively and more interesting. We level the field in terms of playing ability through the tried and true handicap process as used throughout golf. Hickory players are encouraged to post all hickory rounds to a separate online handicap account hosted without charge for all hickory players by the Society of Hickory Golfers. Click here to apply for an online hickory account. In the absence of a separate hickory handicap index, players at our monthly events play off an established and verifiable USGA index. Those without either a hickory or USGA index will have to compete at scratch.
