The Carolina Hickory Golf Association (CHGA) is formed for the following purposes: To preserve the traditions of the royal & ancient game of golf; to promote wider interest in the playing of hickory and persimmon golf; to recreate, as closely as possible, the hickory and persimmon era playing characteristics; and to align the golfing experience with the intentions of the hickory and persimmon era course designers.
