As much as I'd like to think I would have time to go myself, with the birth of our 4th child recently I dont see it happening. So here we are, these clubs were bought from Jay Harris and still have…See More

Quail Ridge - One week call and reminder

Greetings fellow Hickory Golfers.  Your captain has had an extended absence with health issues, and I'm happy to report 2 rather long trips overseas.  3 weeks in Scotland in June, and just returned from a family cruise to Normandy, the first 2 weeks of July.  My apologies for going incommunicado, but there have been lots of great hickory events nationally, and I trust that some of you were able to attend.  We also had 2 outings - one each in June and July, that were sparsely attended.  Summer…See More

"I'm looking forward to returning to Mimosa Hills---a great layout.  Please consider having us play from the red tees (at least as an option)----5800 from the gold tees seems too long for most people's hickory game. (Definitely mine!)"

Broken shaft

Might have hit 20 balls (35 and 50 compression) with my mashie and the shaft is cracking. What do I do? Buy a new shaft from Louisville golf or rob peter to pay paul? I have another mashie by another club maker. I'd have to plug the pin hole and drill a new one if that is the case. Comments?...

Hello all and thank you for accepting me into this organization. I have just recently discovered and acquired some hickory golf clubs and have found a new spark for the game of golf with these. Looking for any information and direction as I am in the midst of putting together my first set. Any information and help would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hopefully be involved in future events and getting to know some of you.

Equipment Help

Hello, I just joined the group last night and am looking forward to playing. I love the tradition and history of the game. Does anyone know of a good source of hickory clubs other than the bay? Swap meets etc.. possibly in NC?

Thanks

I am overwhelmed by the response to our tragic loss. The outpouring of wishes, food, labor, contributions, etc is beyond comprehension. Thank you all.

An anvil too soon silenced. My son Evan died today. The son any parent would wish for, the husband and father too good to be true, the dedicated farrier all horses dream of, went out to work around his new farm and for no apparent reason just died.

To lose a parent is to lose touch with…
